Card Games

These card games are played against the computer or other players. Some are trick-taking games with bidding or trump (Hearts, Spades, Euchre), some are about making sets and runs (Gin Rummy, Cribbage), and some are quick matching or slapping games (Crazy Eights, Go Fish, War, Egyptian Rat Screw). Kings in the Corner is a shedding game where you build piles in alternating colours.

Tools in this group

  • Crazy Eights — Match the top card by suit or rank, play an 8 to name a new suit, and be the first to run out of cards.
  • Cribbage — Discard two to the crib, peg 15s, pairs and runs during the play, then count your hand — first to 121 wins.
  • Egyptian Rat Screw — Play your top card, then slap the pile when a double or sandwich shows. Fastest valid slap takes it — collect all 52 cards to win.
  • Euchre — Call trump, then you and your partner need three of the five tricks. Use the bowers and reach 10 points first.
  • Gin Rummy — Make sets and runs, keep your deadwood low and knock at 10 or less — or go gin with no deadwood at all.
  • Go Fish — Ask a player for a rank you hold. Get all of their cards, or go fish from the pond — the most books of four wins.
  • Hearts Online — Avoid hearts and the queen of spades. Pass three cards, follow suit, and keep the lowest score when someone reaches the target.
  • Kings in the Corner — Draw a card, build descending alternating-colour piles, put kings in the corners and be the first to play your whole hand.
  • Spades Card Game — Bid how many tricks you and your partner North will take, then play 13 tricks with spades as trumps against West and East.
  • War Card Game — Flip your top card against the computer's. The higher card takes both, and a tie means war — win all 52 cards to win the game.
